Matthew 5:43-45 - “[Love for Enemies] "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Brought to you by BibleGateway.com. Copyright (C) NIV. All Rights Reserved. January 3 we celebrated our 6th year as a church!
We had a special day of celebration with our Cimarron Baptist Association Director of Missions Bob Copeland preaching in the morning service and a special musical concert presentation at 6pm. Gabbi Butcher, her mother Natalie and brother Bryce brought a relaxed worshipful atmosphere with solos, duets, piano, and guitar music. Babbi's special friend "Mortimer" joined her in the fun song "Excuses."
So begins our new year!
...Our Church Council will begin a study together this month reaching and sharing through the "Simple Church" book looking at ways to minister and reach out in our community.
...The AWANA Clubs continue to learn God's Word each week through special emphasis and competition - looking forward to that special event "Grand Prix" races.
...Vacation Bible School really is not that far off! The VBS Clinic is in April...can it possibly be that close?? Our week is June 28-July 2 ... in the evening, of course! "Git yer cowboy duds out, cuz it'll take place on a ranch!" Learnin' God's Word the "cowboy way!"
...Our Youth are looking toward the DiscipleNow coming the next month or two and a change in their Falls Creek week ... going the last week of July, which is the last week of FC. Then right up will be the YEC, the first weekend in August.
...IN between these events, the church is busy with Bible study, discipling, coordination meetings, visiting, ministry and outreach, and especially fellowships with the Immanuel Family!
May we suggest - Two of the best resolution to be made this year would be: 1) to read God's Word all the way through (one of our links with a plan to do that is Radio Bible Class) and 2) make the decision to be in God's house, studying about and worshipping Him every Sunday.
,,,Both are scriptural: Psalm 119:11, "Thy word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee. & Psalm 119:105, "Thy Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path." and Hebrews 10:23-25, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promises is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near."
Come visit us! We would love to have you!
